January 23, 2020 Women Excelling Monthly Meeting
Women Excelling is proud to present Karen Kleffel, Chapter Vice President, ABWA Ambassador, and Top Ten Businesswoman of ABWA, who will provide an interactive session on “Community Connections”, the preferred vehicle for ABWA members to communicate and share information.
In our fast-paced world, we all need access to current information to advance our careers, and to communicate effectively with our peers. ABWA provides those tools for us to achieve our success, but we need to know how to use them effectively.
Karen worked in the financial services industry for 42 years recently retiring as the Chief Compliance Officer for National Penn Bank (now BB&T) where she oversaw the compliance program for a $2.5 billion asset management firm and a publicly-traded mutual fund. Her career experience included all phases of fiduciary taxes, securities processing, operations processing, systems architecture, and compliance. At the time of her retirement, Karen’s career path had taken her to the highest-ranking woman in her division.
Karen has a BS degree in Secondary Education with a minor in Mathematics. She firmly believes in continuous education and is a graduate of the PA Bankers Association Trust School, ABWA/KU MBA Essentials Program, and ABWA/Park University’s “Women as 21st Century Leaders”. She achieved ABWA’s titanium status by completing over 250 hours of continuing education credits.
ABWA members are invited to bring their own laptops for this session.
